December Sunset

Spotted this blink-and-you'd-miss-it sunset from my hobby room this afternoon.

This is me summing up the weather so far this month.

I hung myself upside down, took the photo and then the photo was rotated and the result is that wind-swept effect on me.

The Winter season doesn't always have to be about strong wind and heavy rain, something last winter was well known for. This was captured this morning using my four years old Nokia N8 smartphone while on a stroll.

A Chink Of Hope

 

 

The low Autumn sun cuts through the broken stratus this afternoon, as viewed from my hobby room window.

Black & White

 

 

At first sight, this might be a five minute digital job using paint shop pro, but it is an actual photo of an old toy snake puzzle resting on a sheet of black and white paper, then changed the colour in the photo into as 2-bit monochrome.
  Incidentally, if you divided this photo evenly into none blocks using the Rule Of Thirds method, they will all be the exact same size as the middle patterned one.

I'm not sure which is the more unusual feature about this photo, these giant mushroom sprouting in the grass verge at the front of my house or there was actual sunshine at that time!

Jet is going through a sleepy phase, especially now that he has his own favourite blanket.

As viewed from my west-facing hobby room window. I tend to do well for sunsets at this time of the year now that the sun sets to the south west offering a better view of it.

October Sun Rise

 

 

Spotted this high based sunrise upon awakening at 6.30 am this morning. The old saying "Red sky in morning, sailors warning . . . " had rung true on this occasion as the weather turned more overcast and changeable later on in the day thus marked the end of a month-long dry and warm spell (this September was the driest and warmest on record).

A genuine Banksy artwork had appeared at Folkestone out of the blue, and is only around the corner from my house. When I tried to take a photo, I couldn't get a clear shot due to the crowd milling around the artwork so I had to improvise a little with the camera.

A small but very lively thunderstorm sprouted up over the Channel this evening, but by the time I got myself down to the beach with the camera, the storm died on the spot but managed to bag this one.
