Burning Sunrise

Captured this truly spectacular sunrise while on my way to work this morning

One Autumn's Day

All of the photos shown above were all taken in the space of a single day . . . today.
It was one of those muggy humid hazy days. A day that wouldn't be out of place at the end of August!

Autumn Colours

A fine morning had enabled me to capture this lovely "fiery" coloured leaves set-up.

Sunrise At The Leas

Taken this morning while on my way to work.

A heiligenschein

A heiligenschein is an optical effect where sunlight is refracted inside millions of tiny dewdrops back to my line of vision. A bit like when car headlights shine onto a big road sign at night time giving it the appearance of it glowing in the dark. If you STILL can't see the effect in this picture, at least the photo itself has a nice abstractness about it. Taken earlier on this morning when it was sunny with heavy dew on the grass.

After The Rain

The end of a very wet day last week. I had my Fuji S5600 on me as I walked through the town center.

Passing Storm

Was drawn to a passing thunderstorm last Thursday Thursday evening. That's when I set my D40 up for long exposure shots via my hobby room window. Not the most remarkable of lightning captures as the storm was a rather weak affair but like the general layout of the photo in itself in any case.

Dawn Calls

A moderate red sky occured while I was on my way to work, so I made the most of it.

Spoooooky

I know it's not Halloween yet but saw this crackin' looking fake skull in a shop window so I had to take a picture of it.

I wish I was born a cat

Especially when I see something like that just moments before I'm about to leave the house and get myself out into the cold, cruel, hard world in the name of work.

Folkestone Vista

Stunning visibility and excellent air quality yesteday had prompted me to take to the hills to take pictures of Folkestone.

Me looking rather glum . . .

. . . during a tea break at work. I am a bit bored and fed up with work but I've been like that about my tomato greenhouse job for years so it's nothing new. Just wanted to capture my moody expression.

The Hunter

My cat looking mean and moody as he stalks his prey, ready to make the kill.
Actually, I took this picture yesterday, the cat was just relaxing in the sunshine and I used a micro zoom lens on him.

Sunset Pano

Yep, yet another sunset picture, one that was taken earlier on today.
But the colours were quite intense and the vista that can be viewed from my hobby room window seem to be suitable for this kind of set up. I love this kind of thing and could never tire of looking at it no matter how often it occurs.

Bladerunner.

Lovely colour in the sky this evening. Quite long lasting too but I thought the early stages looked the best. This view, taken from my hobby room window, reminded me of a certain classic sci-fi film.
Mind you, I'm going to miss that crane when it eventually does get taken apart.

Dawn Chorus

It was more a "hue" type sunrise rather than the classic "fiery" type. But I liked the colour gradient effect in the sky nonetheless and I can't go wrong with the Leas Bandstand as the foreground subject. No processing had been done on the photo itself.

A Touch Of Autumn.

This photo is unusual in that I've carried out some fancy processing on it. It's something I don't often do so I hope I've got it right. Taken on my way home from work at 4 pm where the weather was very sunny.

It's A Small World

Earlier on today, I checked out a model railway exhibition at the Leas Cliff Hall, and naturally my D40 tagged along with me. I tried to keep these pictures as "real world" as much as could.
I've always had a passion for model railways but sadly due to lack of time, money and space, I no longer own my own model railway layout.

The Next Hollywood Blockbuster?

I'm always on the look out for photography opportunities, and the mess at my tomato greenhouse workplace provided one such oppotunity.
