Aurora

Finally got to see the Northern Lights right here at Folkestone this evening! I didn't think I'd take anything this spectacular with a smartphone camera, which made it worth the walk around a freezing cold Folkestone Harbour. Seemed the hyped up aurora forecasts turned out to be true and as a result that's one wish ticked off where I won't need to travel to Finland or Iceland after all.

Full Steam Ahead

A Black Five stormed through Folkestone on a fair Saturday morning. Thought I'd go for an "iconic" look but unfortunately right at the last minute I had to switch over to my iSamsony smartbone after the batter on my proper camera died (my fault for not checking the charge after lack of use).

The Royal Mail is planning to discontinue Saturday posts as well as laying off even more postal workers. In the meantime, Sir David Attenborough is still going strong at something like 123 years old!
