Moonlighting

Bit of a strange one, so see fit on how you see it. This is a 30 seconds long exposure of the back of the house using moonlight to provide the light.

You decide . . . although this might be more for the older readers of this blog amongst you. Indeed, I've become slightly more hairier than normal as I try and grow a beard. Just got bored of my normal looks I've had since . . . well . . . I was born, really!

Just Another Day

This shot should appeal to us Folkestonians. As for the rest of you . . . well, hope you like the shot anyway. You might have noticed bit of colour popping and processing . . . or rather too much of it but I like it anyway. Besides, it contains a rare sight . . . council workers being hard at work! Kinda brought me back a bit as it's something I used to do years ago, until I got made redundant.

Just Like Old Times

Just for "fun". A shot I've taken earlier on today of a local area and made it look as if this photo was taken at the tail end of the 19th Century using a box camera . . . or something like that. And not a satellite disc, wheelie bin, car or surveillance camera in sight. Almost impossible to find an area that has none of the above to get the shot I wanted!

Foggy Sun

During a very foggy Monday 18th Jan. The sun tried so, so hard to cut through the murk. But only a few minutes after this photo was taken at 1 pm, the fog became thicker again.

Negative Feelings

Some more photography-related tomfoolery. I took two photos of myself and then merged it into as one image as you see it now. I guess it's true that I do have a lot of time on my hands. I got the idea of a comic strip in one of the many books I have on me.

The Ultimate Green Family

Yes, it's been raining all day and it was the kind of day where I had a lot of time on my hands. This idea has been knocking around in my head for a while, so thought I'd carry it out today.

Even More Snow!

These two photos were taken two days ago . . . sadly a thaw had taken place since then and now all the snow is completely gone. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

More Snow Stuff!

While there is a slight thaw now in progress, I've still been able to carry on extracting some very winter-like photography opportunities out of this cold spell.

1963?

Certainly looks like an old photo taken in 1963, but in actual fact, it was taken today at Folkestone. Went to the same location as the other day to get some more snow-related photos, and also to experience what's it like being in REAL arctic conditions.

The Snow Continues . . .

Taken in the past couple of days. While it didn't snow that heavily, a lot of it ended up in drifts as the winds picked up and blew the snow about. The first and last photo was taken just off Farthing Common, the middle three photos were taken at Crete Way (on a hill to the back of Folkestone).

Snow Day!

Finally, the first proper general snow day in what seems like years! The two black and white photos were taken this morning at my work location near Lyminge. The urban orange glow one was taken in a sudden snowstorm at my home location in the evening.

Winter Sunset

The "prism"-like hue associated with this "cold" sunset caught my eyes while I was on my way home from work.

Cool Birds

Had you going with the title? Today has been a freezing cold day and the local ducks are now finding it hard to do their daily swim.

My New Year's Resolution

Okay, you're just about able to keep that last mince pie down inside you, you've got the hangover from Hell, and pretty soon things will settle down back to normal. Now it's time to get serious and make that new year resolution and stick to it. Mine's is to keep a tight grip on my spending. What have you resolved to do (not not to!) in 2010.
