More Sand Etchings
Took the ol' drone for a spin over a local beach today. Unfortunately the lighting was rather flat due to overcast skies so had to pop out this photo in post-processing to bring out the texture.

September Sunset
Just captured this sunset over Folkestone with my drone. Like before, a simple straight upwards to 80 metres ASL and back down flight above the relative safety of my front garden and thankfully upper level wind was within safety parameters.

End Of An Era.
Folkestone Bus Station, that has been a go-to landmark for pretty much a lifetime for many local people, will be closed down in a couple of days and eventually be replaced by a garden/park area by this time next year. The station was built in the 1950s which, ironically replaced a park area before that.
All these photos were taken on my iSamsony smartbone as I didn't want to appear too geeky with my big camera. This is purely for archival purposes, so don't worry I'm not taking on bus-spotting as a new hobby.

Another Then & Now
This time at the front of my house. Top is on this day in 2016 when Summer hung on for longer than usual, bottom is today where there is a bit more green/growth. Also note the missing rowan tree and the other one is dead, so that'll be gone before long.

Then & Now
Just found an old photo of Tram Road and Stoneleigh House taken from the back of my house here at Folkestone in 1985, so thought I'd do a cool "then & now" feature with another photo taken on my smartphone this afternoon.

Sun Halo
As soon as I spotted that sun halo over Folkestone this afternoon, I sent my drone straight up from my front garden to capture it. Then later on in the evening, a moon halo was sighted.

Tickled Pink
Nature's own colour filter made for a striking overcast dusk sky as the setting sun shone through clear skies in the distance. This is straight from my iSamsony smartbone, no post-processing adjustments, all I did was to slightly reduce exposure before taking the picture.
