Harbour Area

Went for a quiet but chilly stroll at around Folkestone harbour today, where parts of it are still under construction as part of the regeneration plan.

Bedtime Story For Jet.

"It was a dark and stormy night, the door slowly creaked open and a panting sound could be heard . . . and then suddenly there was a loud "WOOF! . . . ".

Class 03

Just received this BR class 03 shunter in the post, so thought I'd take a quick shot of it.

EDIT: Now with horn added and a driver.

Night Time

Actually, my ol' street does look rather cool at night time. That bright looking dot is Venus.

Moon Halo.

Taken from the relative safety of my front garden using a GoPro.

Jet

Coming up to 3 years old, this dude is turning out to be a well behaved indoors-only puss. Occasionally he does like to let me know who is the boss, but he is a good boy, really.

Moody Selfie

Yesterday evening, I had everything all set up to take a still life photo of fruits using my two flash guns - only to find one flash gun wasn't working. The batteries inside not only ran out but leaked, so after I took that flash gun apart and cleaned out all the gun and got it working again, I then had to change the battery on the remote sender.
It was a bit of a faff, and by the time I got everything working again, it had gone past midnight so I packed everything up (it took so long that the fruits in question went mouldy!). However, I did manage to take this last minute quick test photo using the trusty Nikon D40.

So let this be a lesson to myself, never leave AA-type alkaline batteries inside devices for too long.

Murkiness At Folkestone

A real pea souper this evening as we go through a chilly spell. The mist then retreated out to the nearby sea (as I live at a coastal town) the following day, which made things look rather hazy and lazy for a time.

Moon Shine

As sunlight bounce off the Antarctica snow cover onto the dark side of the moon.

And a random night time photo of ASDA as viewed from my famed west-facing hobby room window.

Cathedrals Express

A Braunton class steam loco was seen hauling the Cathedrals Express through Folkestone on this fine December's day.

Spooky

When I wake up every morning, I see this Transformer-like creature looming over me in my bedroom.

I get spooked out by a shadow of my bedside lamp from the alarm clock's flashing LED light every time. I need to get a nicer looking lamp.

Another December Sunrise

But this time via an open toilet window.

December Sunrise

Wanted to capture the hues associated with a "cold" sunrise. A Nikon D40 was used but forgot to bring the tripod with me so had to improvise by using a plant of wood.

November Fiieworks

Had a good view of it from next door's front garden when a firework display went off over the harbour. Unfortunately I was in the wrong place photographically (too much street lighting).

Heavenly Cat

Got hold of a second hand D40 courtesy of fleaBay  and tested it on my sister's two Maine Coons.

November Glow

And the next morning, there was a cheeky coloured sunrise as the rising sun managed to peek through a gap in an advancing Atlantic cloud front.

Supermoon Glow

This evening's Supermoon was bright enough to pick out cirrostratus.

A still life subject which involved a light box.

Hangin' On.

Now that the days are getting colder, I had to admit defeat and stared wearing my winter jogging bottoms instead of shorts. As a result, Jet decided that my covered knees are going to be his new scratching post.

October Skies

This time of the year tend to be good in terms of atmospheric skyscapes as the noon time Autumn sun sinks closer to the horizon.

Autumn Has Arrived

After the "extended" Summer, it felt and looked properly Autumnal for the first time.
However, the day ended off on a pleasant note with some dusk colours.

Mug Shot

I seem to have acquired a random collection of mugs for no real reason, so as a doodler, I decided to put them to good use.

Sun-kissed Cat.

A neighbour's cat (don't know her name) basking in the evening rays of the late summer sunshine.

USB Lights

Just bought a new powered USB hub after my old one gave up the ghost. I think the cool blue lights makes them look like isolinear chips on the Enterprise D. I should think so as this thing costed me £25!

Purr-fect End To The Day

This is where my famed west-facing hobby room comes into its own at this time of the year as the setting sun shines directly into it.

Fluffs & Princess

In the past few days I've been checking up on my sister's two maine coons while she is away on holiday, today I decided to take my Lumix compact with me even though the natural light was poor due to very overcast conditions (but didn't want to use the flash).

Mid-Summer Sunrise

We are at this time of the year where we have to be up at 4.45 am to catch any kind of sunrise, in this case I went to the bathroom to answer the call of nature and noticed this wash of orange light through the window.
