Late Flowering



I don't want to cast nasturtiums on a cyclone-type storm situation that is occurring over Ireland as I type this, but it is all rosy here at Kent as I enjoy Summer's final fling.

 

And then later on in the day, a cold front laden with Sahara dust and smoke from Portuguese forest fires passed over us, which made the late afternoon sun go blood red and cast a sickly yellow hue in the sky.

 



Which was rounded off by this brief reddish sunset.



Night Time At Folkestone

Decided to make good use of the bright Harvest moon on this fine clear evening.

Newly Opened Viaduct

Had a quick wander on the freshly restored Folkestone railway viaduct where we can now walk along it. I think the convective skyscape added to the photos.

Been trying to catch the flashing lights of a passing emergency services vehicle, but with no luck. Never is a policeman about when you want one.

Update: The second photo is another attempt a week later, and still no luck but have captured passing distant lightning.

Colourful Building

This cheerful looking building just around the corner from my house was completed this week, and today the bright mid-summer sunshine and blue skies helped to pop out the colours.

Taken on the Go Pro from the relative safety of my famed west-facing hobby room. The Go Pro could only do 30 seconds max exposure but picked out the light trail easily.

Went for a little walkabout at the Harbour Arm with an old school friend.

I captured a impressionist called Ash White in action as the famed Pirates of the Caribbean character at a hot and sunny Folkestone harbour today. I even got a boat to get up and close to him!
