May Mist

As sea fog rolled in from the Channel this evening.

Optic Show

Sun dogs and a circumzenithal arc were spotted this afternoon here at Folkestone, this is where a Go Pro type camera comes in handy. This airborne optic effect is caused by sunlight being refracted inside ice needles that makes up cirrus or cirrostratus clouds.

On Stand By

This is what my famed west-facing hobby room looks like with all my devices left on stand by at night time.

Daady! You're Home!

Jet, the resident house cat, acts as if I've been away for months when I've only popped to the newsagent to get the papers.

Bike Ride

This is the results of a bike ride on what was a fine but rather chilly Thursday afternoon.

. . . but taken 10 hours later after the last lot.

As viewed on this fair and mild Monday morning. The station is now fully restored but only as a pleasure walkway (trains can no longer get into it).

Abstract Grass

A light snowfall resulted in this sprinkling on my lawn, one half succumbed to the winter sunshine producing some surface heating while the other half remained preserved in the shade due to shade temperatures still being below freezing.

Jet noticing the gradual increasing daylight and solar input in the late afternoon.

The Beano Gang

My sister recently found these in a "bits & bobs" box in her attic and are now under my care. According to the tiny print on their backs, they appear to have been part of a McDonalds promotion in the early 2000's.

Green Power

Have set all the LED lights to green to try and make my house looks more festive, but all it did was to make it look like something out of Hammer House Of Horrors.

Lights On!

Even though I'm not really feeling the festive spirit, I thought I'd some fun with LED lighting and did this to my house. Can you make out my cat?

Rock & Roll

This isn't a photoshop layer effect, but a single 15 seconds long shot which involved me moving positions three times and letting an old hand held flashgun go off each time.

Plump Jet

New Camera Test

Just taken delivery of a Sony RX100mkIII and have taken some test shots on what unfortunately was a grey drab overcast day.

Festtive Town Hall

Now that the scaffolding is gone and the tree in front is looking a bit more festive, it was taking this photo of Folkestone town hall last night.

The Local Eye Of Sauron

Went for a wonder on this freezing cold but clear evening and had fun with a local crane (the same one that gave me HAL 9000), I shone a high powered LED torch onto it and was able to get that beam-like effect.

The bottom two photos is of the Memorial arch at night.

HAL 9000 . . .

This is a bright warning light atop a crane as seen from my bedroom window.

Green Light

Wanted to scratch an itch (and add to my archives) before this Triennial-related feature is turned off soon. This is a mosque at Spring Terrace (close to Tontine Street) lit up by green lighting on a mild but rather damp Saturday evening.

Fiery Sunset

The setting sun did a good job in casting the colour onto low level virga (precipitation dropping from cloud but evaporating before reaching the ground). Kinda made it look like buildings are on fire.
