The Wedding Photos.
This is a big one, but I was my nephew's official wedding photographer a couple of weekends ago and this is the result of a short but quite intense session. Took me days to process each and every individual "keepers" (41 out of 200 odd photos).

Cloud/Sky/Land/Sea
A stroll along the Harbour arm revealed land based solar powered cumulus hugging the coast line today.

Raging Dusk Sky
Captured this decaying embers of a post-frontal sunset on my Go Pro from the relative safety of my famed west-facing hobby room here at Folkestone this evening.

Mushroom Cloud
Spotted over the Strait of Dover this evening after general cloud and rain cleared away. It's coming up to that time of the year where the sea surface is warmer than the land, so cumulus can feed on the heat from the sea instead of inland whenever the air aloft is cold enough.
Also, land loses heat at night time while sea retains it (like a giant storage heater) so these sea-based showers could keep going through the night if it needs be.

The Life Of Me
Top photo is my elderly mother having a rare sunbathing session and the bottom photo is my street with brand new LED lamps switched on for the first time (they all replaced the old orange sodium lamps, something I will miss after 35 years of living in the same house).
I need to get out more, don't I?

3D Chess
I was given this as a gift recently, however I have absolutely no clue about chess so I know the pieces aren't in the right place but it is a cool looking idea. Looks a bit like a space age Bonsai tree.

David Tennent . . .
. . . as Doctor Who.
It's been a while since I did a late night home made photo project, just trying to get my photography mojo back. I've almost forgotten how versatile the good ol' kit lens is on the D7000.

Optic Show
Sun dogs and a circumzenithal arc were spotted this afternoon here at Folkestone, this is where a Go Pro type camera comes in handy. This airborne optic effect is caused by sunlight being refracted inside ice needles that makes up cirrus or cirrostratus clouds.

On Stand By
This is what my famed west-facing hobby room looks like with all my devices left on stand by at night time.

Daady! You're Home!
Jet, the resident house cat, acts as if I've been away for months when I've only popped to the newsagent to get the papers.

Restored Folkestone Harbour Station
As viewed on this fair and mild Monday morning. The station is now fully restored but only as a pleasure walkway (trains can no longer get into it).

Abstract Grass
A light snowfall resulted in this sprinkling on my lawn, one half succumbed to the winter sunshine producing some surface heating while the other half remained preserved in the shade due to shade temperatures still being below freezing.

The Beano Gang
My sister recently found these in a "bits & bobs" box in her attic and are now under my care. According to the tiny print on their backs, they appear to have been part of a McDonalds promotion in the early 2000's.
