Bottoms Up
After three months, bars and pubs will finally be allowed to open for trading tomorrow as the Coronavirus crisis show signs of being on the wane. But me speaking as a teetotaler living at a coastal resort I'm dreading it with people getting drunk and stupid by mid-day.

Twilgiht
At this time of the year at 10.30 pm, there is enough twilight and moonlight to to make photos appear like daytime when the camera is set at 30 seconds exposure.

Blind Luck?
Dominic Cummings, a tory MP broke his own lockdown advisory by travelling 250 miles across the UK to visit his family and also to attend an opticians appointment, while knowingly he was infected with the coronavirus the whole time.

I Doth Protest
As the "stay alert, stay home" message seems to be fraying at the edges from what I've been seeing and reading lately.

Avatar
An avatar app is currently doing the rounds on Facebook but because my smartphone isn't advanced enough for it, I've decided to make my own the old fashioned way.

Night Nurse
An ambulance was parked on our road for an hour this evening, so I used it as a photography subject.
(Hope whoever needed it wasn't seriously ill, especially as the Coronavirus situation is still ongoing).

Idolise Me
A vivid sun halo was observed from Folkestone - in fact over the whole of Southern England - today. Caused by sunlight being refracted in ice needles that makes up thin high level cirrostratus cloud.

Spring Abounds.
Despite the Spring-looking appearance at St Eanswythe's churchyard here at Folkestone today, the wind still had a bite to it where I wish I had my winter hat on.
Yes, the Coronavirus crisis is still ongoing but I was isolated the whole time and needed to properly stretch my pale fat legs for the first time in two months with this cheeky "back-to-basics" photo using a Samsung S9 smartphone camera.

Red Jet
I had a go at praying thinking it couldn't do any harm, instead I had accidentally summoned up Lucifer.

Got To Roll With It

Plant Life
I've just been given some fake indoors plants and it took a good few minutes for the plant eater that is Jet to realise they are not edible.

Happy Birthday, Jet.
6 years old today. Tried to replicated Chad's Union Jack post from ten years ago and Jet is just as compliant when it comes to posing for the camera.

The Cat's Whiskers
A particular British locomotive has been named "Felix" after a famous Huddersfield Station cat, but I felt it should have a more fitting livery.

Night Flight
I have taken another round of night time photos, but this time involving Jam Jar at Tontine Street (with the owner's permission, of course). It was just opening time when I passed by at 6 pm on this damp January evening, hence there being no-one about which was ideal for me and my camera and I was only able to be out for a limited time anyway.

Moon & Venus
The moon and Venus (also nicknamed "The Evening Star") as seen from the relative safety of my west-facing front garden.
Legend has it that as the very last steam locomotive built for British Railways rolled out of a works shed at the end of a cold February's day in 1960, workers wanted to give it a name when one person looked to the sky and commented on how bright Venus was. The loco was thus named The Evening Star.
The loco in question, a Standard Class 9f 92220, is currently stored in the National Railway Museum in York.

After The Rain
It is a similar theme to the one of the Old High Street on a wet evening taken before Christmas but this time nearer to Folkestone harbour.

Getting Your Skates On
It has been a while since I last done a topical local-based doodle, this is where a new £14 million skate park has been five years in the making and is still not completed.

Something Fishy Is Going On
Have done this updated version of an old doodle. It's just to keep the artistic juices flowing as well as testing a new Canon scanner/printer machine thingy.

Moonrise
Spotted this pretty looking moonrise over St Peter's church at Folkestone viewed from mother's bedroom this evening.
