Fine February's Day

 

Went for a constitutional around Folkestone Harbour while the weather was pleasantly spring-like mild and bright.

Class 20 Locomotive

Not as glamorous as a steam engine but today was my first ever sighting of a vintage but single Class 20 locomotive (they usually come in pairs) as she raced through Shakespeare's Cliff at Folkestone on what was a fine February afternoon. This class type of locomotive is seldom seen on Kent metals.

Jet In The Wild

Not quite in the wild as my indoors-only mini panther turns 9 years old this week.

Yes, it's only literally the first week of February, yet Spring seemed to have practically arrived early.

Went for a quick constitutional around Folkestone harbour with my trusty 10 years old Nikon D7000 this evening, unfortunately it started drizzling with droplets getting on the lens.

 Just been to the dentist this morning and had a tooth cavity filled in - cost me £200! But it was quite a bit one, mind you.

I should make more of an effort to go further afield than my hobby room but coloured sunsets are unpredictable and even if I do see one forming I am unable to leave my elderly mother on her own. 

A Rose By Any Other Name

Is it me or red seems to be the most difficult colour to digitally capture and process? Even on decent DSLR cameras and then it comes out looking worse on social media via their own image compression.

Steel Skies And A Bow

The sky came over all stormy looking for a time here at Folkestone, so I used it for a quick photo opportunity with my Iron Giant figure. Then later on in the day I was greeted by a vivid looking rainbow, thus rounded off what has been an interesting weather day.

Evening Sky

Getting a nice view of the sky from my famed west-facing hobby room window now that the rotted rowan tree and overgrown conifer tree are gone.

St Eanswythe's Chuch.

Today I had a quick wander around inside St Eanswythe's Church near my house in Folkestone with my (admittingly new) iSamsony smartbone.

Fun fact: When I kept trying to line everything up, I noticed that the church isn't exactly in a straight line. The vicar said the Altar end represents the way St Eanswythe used to tilt her head in wonder. I spent the rest of the day actually being in awe of that fact!
