All I Ask Is A Tall Ship And A Star To Steer Her By

A sailing boat called "Thalassa" paid Folkestone Harbour a visit on this muggy Saturday. I actually mingled with people but did find the mixture of smells coming from the dozen food vendors a bit too much of a sensory overload.

To Badly Go . . .

This is completely out of my own head as I mix my passion for Star Trek and collecting Tangerine Dream LPs.

The Mayflower

Finally caught sight of a locomotive I've never seen before as she stormed through Shakespeare's Cliff at a fair ol' lick of speed. Could have done with some blue sky but at least the ambient lighting was strong enough for fast shutter speed.

Moonlit Night Above Shangri La House

Taken hand held on my smartphone from my hobby room window, so not my usual high photography standards but does capture the spooky looking atmosphere.

Full Steam Ahead

Wanted to capture the not-seen-before "The Mayflower" storming through Shakespeare's Cliff on this balmy June's day, but ended up with the seen-before "Branton". But hey, a steam loco is a steam loco and at least got me out of the house with a camera and got a nice photo out of it.

Special Effect

Had a go at creating a special effect creating old school methods. This was not digitally done using video overlays, the Spock figure stood behind a sheet of glass and the colour "orbs" were from a tablet screen that reflected on the glass.

Rough Weekend

Based on two close friends who just had a rough and painful weekend.

Creature Feature

Last night, I dreamt that I was the owner of a friendly indoors-only seagull and penguin for pets and my actual cat, Jet, didn't mind them being in the house. My brains doesn't half come up with some strange random stuff.

Off Your Brolly!

Decided to take photos of an art installation in Folkestone shopping area before the whole thing succumb to strong winds.

Better Late Than Never

Seems this Spring has finally got the right idea. Photo taken straight out of my smartbone in my back yard.

Braving The Cold

The local flora trying their hardest to look spring-like on this cold, dull & wet day as this spring is struggling to find it's feet.

Joys Of Spring

Only that it isn't feeling and looking nothing like meteorological Spring.

This Time Of The Year

Joys of owning an indoors-only black cat.

Fine February's Day

Went for a constitutional around Folkestone Harbour while the weather was pleasantly spring-like mild and bright.

Class 20 Locomotive

Not as glamorous as a steam engine but today was my first ever sighting of a vintage but single Class 20 locomotive (they usually come in pairs) as she raced through Shakespeare's Cliff at Folkestone on what was a fine February afternoon. This class type of locomotive is seldom seen on Kent metals.

Jet In The Wild

Not quite in the wild as my indoors-only mini panther turns 9 years old this week.

Spring Has Arrived

Yes, it's only literally the first week of February, yet Spring seemed to have practically arrived early.

Two Panos And An Arty Shot

All taken at Folkestone harbour on my iSamsony smartphone on what was a chilly but bright Tuesday afternoon. Click on the two panoramas to get a better view.

The Twerking Duck

A Facebook friend asked me to draw a cartoon duck, but I took it one step further and did this. Feels like there should be a pub called “The Twerking Duck” somewhere in Kent.

Not So Merry Christmas

And now a doodle of a topical nature. Perhaps living by the sea does have some advantages.

Merry Christmas

Time for this year's festive doodle with best greetings from me, mother and Jet.

Harbour Lights

Went for a quick constitutional around Folkestone harbour with my trusty 10 years old Nikon D7000 this evening, unfortunately it started drizzling with droplets getting on the lens.

Jet & Rain

My 9 years old black puss was fascinated by the rain lashing onto the hobby room window this morning. Bet he is glad to be an indoors-only puss.

News Beat

As Liz Truss quits her role as Prime Minister after only 44 days, that means we'll be on a third PM by the end of this year . . . unless Boris Johnson is reinstated.

A small part of Folkestone has just become that little bit more colourful. All taken on my famed iSamsony smartbone.

Another One Bites The Dust

The government in turmoil as a recently appointed chancellor has been given the sack after only a month in the role. We'd have been through three chancellors in just this year alone.
