The Bridge Is Gone

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The concertina bridge that could be seen from my front garden has been taken down today. For the first time in the 33 years of living in the same address, the landscape is now looking that little bit more threadbare. It was just as well as the bridge was an eyesore anyway.
  I then took some other odd and sods photos while the weather was being nice at the time.

Mock Suns

Spotted on both side of the setting sun here at Folkestone. Seems to be a good week for light optics so far.

Halo

 

 

 

 

 

 

There was a vivid sun halo today, so I took myself to a nearby hill to get some decent photos out of it. But by the time I got there, the halo had faded away and it was freezing cold in that exposed part of the town.

While it was very windy but dry and bright, I took myself down to Folkestone sands with the camera during a spring high tide at 10.20 am.

The Blue Hour

I took this with the Lumix compact while waited for the nacreous clouds to appear (which never did).

Solar Flare

 

 

While I was waiting for nacreous clouds to form this morning, I did a bit of light painting.

PS: Those clouds never did appear.

Three Of A Kind

 

 

 

 

 

Thought I'd try and get back into my experimental indoors photography using my trusty D7000 and kit lens - and here it is called "Three Of A Kind".

No photoshop type layering was involved in this, this is just a single long exposure in a dark room and a spare flash gun was set off three times to pick myself out as I changed position. The only thing I've done to this photo was to greyscale it.

It has a bit of Monique Froese (Edgar Froese's wife) influence about it.

Had better luck with a decent coloured sunrise this morning. Unfortunately I wasn't prepared for it as this was taken through my bathroom window.

At Folkestone harbour this morning. I was hoping to capture some magnificent dawnbreak colours but that part didn't come off so I had to improvise.

My sister made this insect objet d'art using old computer bits and then I was let loose on it with my D7000.
