Pink Sunset

Just managed to capture this blnk-and-you'd-miss-it pink sun set - the first colourful sun set of 2010! Barely lasted only a few minutes, but it's a start.

The Black Hole

Taken the other day. The recent ice and snow had caused a pot hole to form on the road in front of my house. Over the next two weeks, the hole grew in size until it's now a huge crater measuring a meter wide and 5 inches in depth. It's still not been filled in as I type.

Night Skyline

A 13 seconds long exposure of the view as seen through my hobby room window. It does show how much night lighting there is. Mind you, conditions was murky with the low cloud base reflecting the urban lighting.

Spring Is Here!

Aaaah, the old ones are the best ones. It's murky, manky, misty, muggy, moist and anything else that begins with the letter "M" over here - and has been like it for three days now. Very grey and depressing, back to our default winter weather, really. There is absolutely no signs of spring at all at what is normally the "tropical" part of the UK. There's been VERY little sunshine in the past two months, and I've yet to see a decent early morning photogenic low-lying mist/sun set up so far this year (it's being a real struggle photographic-wise as you can see by the large gap between when I last took an interesting photo and this one!).

Snow Drifts

Still a lot of snow drifts around the Lyminge area. This was taken while on my way to work at 7.15 am this morning.

A Valentine's Day Message.

Dedicated to those who have had to put up with me and my idiosyncratic ways. You know who you all are.

"Snow Go" for all.

I got my uncle John to post me some of his snow pictures. While they were all excellent to look at, I particularly like this one. So much I decided to give it the ol' IDJ media treatment. These are cars being stranded in snow just off Hawkinge earlier on this week.

The Snow Returns!

It came back even harder, badder and meaner as 20 hours of near-continuous snowfall had dumped between 9 to 15 inches over Folkestone. It was a once-in-every-ten-years event as Folkestone was rendered paralyzed!

Keeping things in perspective

This was taken right at the end of the working day as I was leaving the greenhouses. Noticed how the sun brought out the shadows, etc and thought "Ooo, that looks nice". Actually, it's been a while since I took something like this as the weather has been so drab and gloomy for so long! A pity my "proper" camera was in the car at this time and I couldn't be bothered to go and grab it and then return back to the greenhouses.

Twin Upper Tangent Arcs

Rare and prized twin upper tangent arcs, caused by sunlight being refracted through millions of ice needles high up in the atmosphere.
