A Snowy Morning

Heavy snow fall at my work location for most of this morning. My workplace is perched 400 feet above sea level and is 6 miles inland from the English Channel.

Jogger In The Snow

We had a snow flurry this morning, unusually early for this time of year for my Kent coast location. I snapped this jogger as he passed by my house. Goes to show how some people are absolutely determined to carry on with their routine no matter whatever the weather!

Night Time Exposure

Experimented with the various night time exposures settings on my new Panasonic Lumix last night.

Fractal Ice

The inside of the work's greenhouses was covered with a strange-looking Mandelbrot-type fractal pattern this morning. The ice formation shown on this photo was on the inside!

Day's End

Today I bought a new camera! It's a Panasonic Lumix TZ8 which is going to replace my trusty but battered Fuji S5600 as a general carry-about camera. What you see above is the first ever debut photo I've taken with the new camera. In fact, I took the shot only moments after I left the camera shop!

the Workforce

A couple of "rare" group photos of the rapidly dwindling workforce at my greenhouse workplace. The place has been sold off to a private buyer and very soon we could be all out of a job. Certainly a sign of the times.

Morning Murk

Rode through this thick murk while on my way to work this morning. The sun hadn't risen above the horizon at the time, hence the dark look about it.

The Long Hard Slog

At my tomato greenhouse workplace, we are clearing the place out by getting rid of all life-expired plants along with the dirty ground covering. As you can see by the photo, it is a long and backbreaking task.

Watch Out, Jack Frost's About!

A cold clear night had enabled this iced up effect to form all over my greenhouse workplace. And yes, it is as cold as it looked. After I took this photo at 7.30 am, it wasn't until two hours later all feelings returned to my fingers and toes!

November Dusk

Came across this decent sunset while on my way home from work. Note how calm the sea is, a complete contrast to what it was like four days ago!

Monkeh and Son

A little excercise in lighting and photoshopping. Yes, I did this photo eight hours after the one shown below (the chips one) and it was still raining at the time.

Hands Up Who Doesn't . . . .

It is being a truly wet day today, so I thought I'd fire up the ol' creative juices and have fun involving my camera and oddily shaped vegetables. I opened a packet of spuds as I prepared to do the Sunday roast . . . and came across this heart shaped thing, so I had to put it to good use! I'm very happy with the concept but it was hard work getting the lighting right on the spud itself and then choosing the right kind of font to complete the set up. Mind you, it isn't the first time I've been messing about with fruits and vegetable (now that sounded a bit wrong, didn't it).

November Dawn

What a lovely way to start the day!
Unfortunately this photo is a "quickly taken from my back yard" affair. I first saw it form when I looked out through a window, but by the time I got changed and find a nice foreground to accompany the sky, the whole thing would be over by then.

Stormy Weather

Took myself down to the beach for some wave photography action this afternoon. Despiting skies being grey, dark and laden, the camera handled the poor lighting surprisingly well!
Incidentally, the second and third image got shown on a regional news programme on BBC!

November Sunset

I stopped to capture this nice looking sunset while I was on my way home from work at 4 pm.

Summer's Last Final Gasp

This tired looking fella appeared from nowhere to rest on my finger. I was in my greenhouse workplace at the time, but I didn't rate his chances very much once I let him go. Now, the clever thing with this photo is that it was taken on a . . . . mobile phone. I will be honest and admit that the photo has been touched up slightly on my computer but I was impressed with the image quality of the photo straight out of the mobile.

A Showery Sunday

Went for a bike ride earlier on today which turned out to be a rather damp and cold affair. Nonetheless it enabled me to get those photos.

The Tea Break

Two of my workmates during a tea break at work. Just liked the way the morning sunshine gave it that aura.

Autumn Glow

Came across this just as I was leaving the workplace at 4 pm.
Now that we're back onto GMT, that causes the sun to set an hour earlier, which nicely coincides with knocking off time at work.
