Twilight Mission
I got out of bed at 2.00 am and was at the East Cliff at 2.30 am gazing at the stars with the camera hoping to capture the Perseids meteor shower. However, despite brilliant clear skies where I was able to see the Milky Way and that, it was NOT at all an easy task to try and catch at least one shooting star. Although I got to see loads with my own eyes, I just couldn't capture one with the camera (wrong place, not bright enough, etc).
As soon as twilight appeared and frostbite was about to set in, I decided to do a bit of light painting using one of the Martello Towers - and that was when I just about caught that faint steak just above the top of the tower (to the left of that little cluster of stars).
The second picture is where I've decided to make my own shooting stars and the third image is dawn hues as viewed from the old Folkestone Jetty.
Still, it was all a surreal experience in it's own right and my D7000 is great to work with when it comes to this kind of thing.

Space, The Final Frontier . . .
What with the ISS being very bright and the annual Perseids meteor shower at it's peak, there does seem to be a lot of celestial-related excitement going on at the moment.
