Convective Cumulus

Spotted this line of thermal induced convective cumulus as they rattled in from the English Channel. A wide-angle lens was attached to my D40 to get this shot.

Electric Forest

Let there be light! Yesterday evening, I, my sister and my two nephews (Martin and Jack) took ourselves over to Bedgebury Pinetum which is located right on the Kent/Sussex border. Out of the whole shedloads of photos I've taken, I considered these eight to be the best pick of the bunch.

Autumn Dawn

Captured this nice hued sunrise this morning at my workplace.

Waterspout!

Spotted this funnel cloud as it descended from a cumulonimbus cloud over the Strait of Dover this afternoon.

Cold Sunrise

Captured this very brief but decent enough sunrise while on my way to work at 7.15 am this morning.

The First Sting Of Winter.

We experienced the first "proper" frost of the season. And earlier than usual as we don't normally get to see that kind of thing at these parts (the Kent Coast) until mid-November. I had to wait until my work's 10 am tea break before I could be let loose with the camera. At this point I got very lucky with this isolated patch of frost that had somehow survived the mid-morning warm-up, but it was because it was very heavily shaded.

Thundery Sunset.

A weak shelf cloud combined with the setting sun gave me this moody thundery-looking sunset.

DIY Dimension

Popped into a local DIY shop, had the camera on me so I couldn't resist taking some abstract shots. Can you guess what the second shot is?
Answer: It's a row of metal kitchen bin taken at close up zoom range.

Not At Home

Funny to think that this was once someone's home.

Flights of Fancy

Stumbled across a kite flying session at the local park while on a bike ride. As you can see by the background it was a gorgeous warm and sunny day, amazing since we're in mid-October!
The last image was processed in a way to give it that fantasy dream-like flight look about it.

Up The Tubes

Spotted this right outside my house earlier on this morning. I like the strong primary colours in this one, also shows how gorgeous the weather was being at the time.

Journey's End

Went for a little bike ride earlier on what was a fine and bright afternoon and came across this. Bit maudlin, I know. Also lots of processing was involved in this one.

Dew On Web

One of the many reasons why Autumn is my favourite time of the year.

Odd One Out

Came across this box of well-ripened tomatoes at my workplace, and couldn't resist making something out of it. I have taken a similar thing in the past, but this one is the improved "planned" version.

Mid-Autumn Sunset

A well overdue stunning sunset, taken from my hobby room window half an hour ago at typing this caption. The photo itself is completely unprocessed.

Lovely Weather For Ducks

As we head deeper into Autumn.
